6月16日発売の雑誌「CONTINUE Vol.46」に、菅野よう子の特集記事「菅野よう子の宇宙」が掲載される。
特集では5月27日に発売された自選コレクションアルバム「スペース バイオチャージ」の話題を中心に、音楽家・菅野よう子の本質に迫るロングインタビューを収録。
さらにアニメ「マクロスFRONTIER」の劇中曲として発表され大ヒットを記録した「星間飛行」を作り上げた菅野よう子×松本隆の対談や、「マクロスF」の歌姫・中島愛＆May'nが菅野の魅力を語り尽くすクロストーク、「マクロスプラス」「カウボーイビバップ」などのアニメで菅野とタッグを組んだ監督・渡辺信一郎のインタビューなどが掲載される。ファン必携の1冊と言えそうだ。

プロフィール 本名･菅野洋子。1964年3月18日生まれ、宮城県出身。早稲田大学文学部在学中「てつ100％」のメンバーとしてCBSソニーよりデビュー。 解散後、作曲・編曲・プロデュースワークを中心に活動。 フルオーケストラによるクラシカルな楽曲から、ジャズ、テクノ、エスニック、R&Bなど。既存のジャンルではカテゴライズできない「自由」に満ちたその音楽性は国内外を問わず数多くの信奉者を虜にしている。 アーティストプロデュースとしては小泉今日子、今井美樹のサウンドプロデュース、坂本真綾のトータルプロデュースワーク等、その他大勢枚挙に暇がない。 2001年夏には、自ら「シートベルツ」という謎のバンドを率いて、渋谷AXで１夜限定のライブを行う。チケットは5分で完売、そのゴージャスなパフォーマンスが話題となった。いずれも海外での評価が高く、その活動の範囲は国内にとどまらない。 チェコ・フィル、イスラエル・フィル、ワルシャワ・フィルなど、海外のオーケストラを自在に操り、米国ロサンゼルスの映像フェスティバルでは、彼女のエキシビジョンでの、たった2曲のピアノ演奏を聴くために 2000人以上の現地のファンが列を作った。 聴けば納得！！ コスモ石油 オリジナル・テーマ・ソング 「seeds of life」 (菅野さんの代表曲です。CD「CMようこ」に収録） 「新HAKU」 (資生堂のHPへ。得意のエスニック調のCMです。） |

菅野よう子語録(インタビュー倉庫はこちら) ●「COWBOY BEBOP」について 『はじめに、ジャズで、っていうのが決まっていたので、ジャズなんだけれど。ジャズなんて、嫌い。だーっと長いだけで。話、聞いたとき、そんなアニメ誰も見ないよ〜、とか思って。だから、余計、面白くしなきゃって、がんばる。』 ●菅野よう子ベストの企画が出てこない理由 『大体、作っちゃったら、あとは、楽譜にしてもなんにしても、どこにいったか、わからなくなっちゃうし。あとで聞かれてもわからない。自分にとってのピークは、録音しているとき。それが終わると、あとは過去のものになる』 ●ライブは、ほとんど敢行されることがない理由 『懲りすぎてお金がかかるから。』 ●得意なジャンルの音楽を担当したことはありますか? 『実は苦手なものばかり話が来るのよ。〈攻殻〉でも社会のこと全く興味ない人間（笑）に社会派アニメだものね。』 ●自分で得意だと思っているジャンル 『動物とラブ、そして子供向けのアニメ。手塚先生の、例えば〈ジャングル大帝〉のリメイクの話なんてもしきたら、絶対（話は）受けるけれど、すごく困ると思う。好きすぎて。』 ●好きな映画監督 『デヴィッド・リンチ 
。〈ツイン・ピークス〉を見てから好きになって。リンチっておバカでしょう? 真面目に見てるとこっちがバカらしくなってくる。そういう持って行かれ方がくすぐったくて好き。』●ソロ・アルバム作らないんですか? 『作曲家って生きているうちから自分の代表作をまとめないといけないのかと思ってた。だけどこの仕事をしながら、自分で自分のことを語る余裕は全然ないです。』 ●てつ100％について 『コンテストに出るけどピアノがいないので応援してくれと頼まれて、仕方なく弾いたらバンドが優勝しちゃって。自動的にレコードを出すことになって、デビューしちゃった。写真を撮られて、コンサートをやって……。もちろん楽しかった思いもありますが、やりたくないことをやることになってしまったという気持ちは、正直ありました。』 ●曲づくりは、いつごろから？ 『2歳半とか3歳の頃にはつくってました。子供って、いい加減な歌、歌うじゃないですか。そういう意味です。なんでもかんでも歌にしてたのを覚えてます。』 ●青春時代 『(音楽活動は)まったく。少なくとも13〜20歳は、全然つくってないですね。興味は文学へのほうが強くて、新聞社に入りたいと思ってました。三島由紀夫

に憧れて、三島の文章を全部ノートに書き写したりしていました。』『大学に入るくらいまで。映画も観たことなかった、真面目だから（笑）。』 ●作曲について 『頭の中で音色も含めてメロディーが浮かんできて、あとはそれを書き留めるだけ。ほぼ完成しています。作曲のための勉強という意味では、まったくしてません。ほぼ毎日（作曲）です。』 『作っている時は頭の中がドリームでいっぱいになるんですよ。ぽんっと世界が表れて、こんな音でああしてこうして……、頭の中で流れている音楽は「何て素敵なんだあ！」って（笑）。子供の頃から頭の中で鳴っている音楽で踊ったりしていたので、想像で満足しちゃって譜面に書いてる内に飽きてきちゃう、「な〜んか違うな、これぇ……」って。』 ●Do you get any inspiration for music from animals? 『I don't receive any particular inspiration for music from animals. I've really loved animals for a long time. When I was a child there was a city zoo nearby. It was less than twenty minutes by walking. Every day, I would go to the zoo. Later, I wasn't able to go as often, but I try to go to relieve lots of stress. 』 |

Isn't there child singing a negligent song?It is such a meaning.
